Summary

  • When the mist clears the party finds themselves in strange room with strange machines, and a stranger (John)
  • Derrin the Goblin proceeds to trash machines, beam blasts path, guards / sorcerers attack, Derrin with help from party slays all.
  • Party escapes to tunnel with rails, “attacked” by armored metal worm (subway train)
  • Goblin blows up train murdering minions inside
  • Zombies / undead appears on Tek-World
  • Minor Demons appear in subway tunnel, killed by party
  • Party follows beam path to Blood Plain in hell and Kronk and Derrin lures a major Demon to follow them back to Tek-World
  • Party engages subway security guard and steals cell phone

After Action Report
Summary

  • While trying to locate kidnappers party encounters a miniature dragon. The party befriends it despite its superior attitude and discovers it is a large green dragon that lives in the Shrieken Mire swamp, and is much revered as Queen of the Mire by a clan of lizard men – among them their old companion Hizt from Rushmore. In return for help finding bandits, the party agrees to remove a rival clan of ugly “mud” scaled (brown) lizard men from swamp. The dragon dislikes them for their ugly colour and lack of subservience to her beautiful Lizard men pets.
  • Dragon tells party of old ruined keep deep in the Thornwood
  • Party talks to Oleanne the druid, who surprisingly knows nothing of ruined keep in “her” forest. She has animals investigating and discovers a “blind” spot in the forest where some evil is avoided by animals, and she herself has unknowingly been avoiding due to subconscious aversion.
  • Party travels to investigate, deciding to leave Oleanne behind in case the evil presence is aware of her.
  • Party ambushes Ogres and is in turn counter-ambushed, but slay all but one Ogre
  • Thorgrim gets message and has to leave on Clan business
  • Party finds a keep with a single broken / shattered / knocked down tower. Attempt to sneak in fails and party is attacked by bandits who turns out to be their attackers from the river.
  • A charmed adventurer (who judging by smell has eaten fish) initially fights with the bandits but breaks compulsion and joins party (Erik)
  • Several bandits slain, including leader, an evil Dwarf Cleric, and a Drow female is captured and stripped of magic armor and weapons, as is a bandit.
  • Bandit mage escapes
  • Dungeons under keep explored, including evil temple to Zehir and cells where hidden dwarf runes from a previous inmate say “orcs + evil + priest + below + snag”
  • In the barred crypt a strange pattern of sorted bones is laid out, when disturbed a blue glow and mist covers the room, and the party finds themselves …elsewhere…

I… uh… guess I need a bit of practice with my throwing hammers, Thragen. I think I killed Kronk. He just moves so suddenly! It would have probably hit the snake if he didn’t dodge right under it. Wait. Wha… where is that gobl… huh?? Is it suicidal?? Did you see that?! Right off the cliff, I swear it, look down there! It landed right on the snake.

Hey… HEY! Put that thunderbrew down, this is serious. Thorgrim seems to be fleeing from the demons. No… he’s running to Kronk… I’m in trouble now. Wait, what’s he doing? Is Kronk… getting up? He’s alive! He’s… oh crap, he’s looking at me is what he’s doing. Maybe he won’t remember. I’ll deny it, blame it on the gnolls. There’s no way he… he picked up the hammer. Now he’s heading for the rope. I’m sure he’ll forgive me. I didn’t mean it!

Summary

  • Party follows clues, including old song known by dwarf Grizzler about Lynterns great grand father and friends clearing Evil Lord from land and lost magic items (handout song)
  • Lyntern joins paty – only wants great grandfather, paladin Lord Lothar Palfreys, sword. Squired to Thragen. (Bring back alive or else)
  • follows clues in song to Gleaming Glade (North east of Great Rock Dale in woods)
  • after a few mishaps falling in crevices find haunted Glade, and ruins of mansion, with haunted grounds
  • after fight, moonlight transports party to non-ruined haunted mansion in Shaddowfel, fight library, crypts
  • Party acidentally frees demon, but almost beats him – but he ecapes
  • Party discovers portal to hell. Dragon born Palladin of Pelor, Angelina Albright arrives. Kronk black obsidian sword “neutralized, sheeted in crystal”. Party with her puts ghost of Pelor Clerik (Kantus) lost companion of Lord Lother to rest, but destroys Haunted Child (bloody fingers), and closes portal with her on wrong side using ritual discovered in library under haunted flag stones.

After Action Report
Summary

  • At Count Palfrey’s party, the party ;-) is introduced to: Stammel Count P’s Master at arms, and Lafayer, a stout, greying (but still hardy) travelling cleric of Pelor
  • Palfrey do not want his son Lyntern to go “gallivanting on adventurers” – Lyntern does, and resent he was not allowed to go on patrol out to meet pilgrims coming / fleeing from Ket (Lafayer is waiting for same Pilgrims to take them to temple in Hochoch)
  • Party is invited to Palfrey’s study with Tauster and Lafayer for brandy and a pipe – amd to tell about their adventures.
  • Party discover the Palfreys think they are rightful heirs to the old throne of Bissel, and that the shield and (damaged) crown found in the crypt of sunken keep in Rushmoor swamp by Kronk & Thorgrim may be lost heirlooms of the old king. Palfrey offers to purchase for 1500 gp, but Thorgrim would rather have a magic weapon +1. Palfrey agrees and asks them to see his master at arms in morning at the armoury.
  • Party parties with Lyntern (after he helps out Raugh, a man at arms on guard duty), and Kronk suggests that while they can’t take him adventuring against his fathers wish, if they should happen to meet up, they would feel honour bound to offer Lyntern whatever help they can.
  • That night an injured horse from patrol shows up at gate. Lyntern tells gate guard to wake master at arms and get patrol and the heroes to follow him, then takes of like one possessed across northern moors.
  • Party and men at arms follows Lyntern who follows a blood trail, and finds the slain men of the patrol on Howlers Moor. Kronk finds a mysterious last message written in blood on one of shields: “Taken alive by redhead
  • Proceeded by howls, the party is attacked by fiery Hell-hounds. Raugh nearly gives his life saving Lyntern, who to everybody’s surprise, most of all his own, heals him, and later Kronk with new found Paladin Powers. The party is victorious and manage to prevent Lyntern from dying – indeed it is likely Kronk would have died without Lyntern’s aid.
  • Gravely wounded master at arms Stammel begs party to bring Lyntern back alive when the wounded and unconscious men at arms have to return to Palfrey keep while Lyntern insists on saving the abducted pilgrims with or without them.

Magic Powder

As if we haven’t made the return trip to visit Tauster enough times, we needed a vial of magic powder to complete the magical item for the goblins. We made it back to Baron Carman with little problem, but on the way back Thorgrim noticed something in the water, which turned out to be a messenger crow. I don’t know how he ever saw it at such a distance. Not only that, but Kronk was able to retrieve the water logged note from it, still intact.

Before we were able to fully gather our wits with this new problem, a hail of arrows and fire rain down on the boat, with one hitting me square in the eye! I couldn’t see a thing and I didn’t want to be hit again, so I jump into the water. It turns out Thorgrim had the same idea and it turned out to be a good one. We dispatch what turns out to be a zombie under the boat and I am able to use the time to recover my strength.

We storm out onto the shore into a right mess. Bolts of magic and wood are flying every which way. The tides turn now that we are in melee, but we are unable to catch the spell caster. I hear a shout about Oleanna being injured. It’s at this point that I notice that the Deva that was with us is now gone, and so is our boat. Rushing to help stop Oleanna’s bleeding, I realize that my companions make up for their amazing skills with some piss poor ones. I admit I could not help either, but somehow under all the scraps we bound around her wounds, she continues to breathe.

After we drop off the Druid with Kuiper and finally deliver the magical powder, I go with Thorgrim(?) to scout the forest for the missing mage. We come up with no useful information and return just in time to meet up with Kronk(?) on his way to the Count’s keep for dinner.

  • Party is bringing Residium from Baron Carman to Tauster, after trading Ring to Carman.
  • Party discovers dead Crow in river with message from Tauster asking for help – apparently he is not paranoid, someone is spying / scrying him.
  • Party is ambushed and nearly dies, with the Nameless Deva disappearing.
  • Oleanna and her wolves saves party, who in turn saves Oleanna from dying at the very last second. Some of attackers escape, 2 archers / brigands do not.
  • Tauster has guard dogs, and is protected by Torgrim while working on magic picknic basket.

After Action Report
Summary

  • Party searches for clues regarding the growing New Mire
  • Party is attacked by Worg and saves farmer and his son who were helping them investigate.
  • That evening in the small farming hamlet of Harlaton they learn of mysterious blue giants seen by a shepherd / bard wanna-be.
  • Locates hidden lair of goblins with blue painted faces and tattoo (circle with two wavy lines). Goblins are lawful cowards, borderline starved because they are too afraid to bother local humans. Their Sherman has magic ring (same as tattoo symbol) which may be cause of mire.
  • Party surprisingly do not kill any goblins (Kronk missed ambush shot) and makes agreement to trade ring for food generating magic.
  • Tauster the wizard confirms ring is of water elemental command, but has flaw and slowly leaks water onto prime material plane. Party wants Tauster to make food creating magic item to trade between goblins and Carman for ring (pointing out a controlled water leak can be a boon for farming).
  • Baron Carman agrees to measure New mire over next few weeks and if shrinking pay 1000gp bonus.

Summary

  • Oleanna will track Orcs, but asks a fox to show party where it saw Maxim the Werebear hiding
  • Party and Kuiper finds wounded Maxim and subdues him (among bodies of dead orc’s that attacked him), then Kuiper returns him to parents farm (he changed to boy that morning).
  • Party returns to Millborne and learns of New Mire.
  • Lord Carman asks them to investigate New Mire (as favor they owe him). Gives room and board for 2 weeks at inn, and 10 gp for expences. He wants written report at end, with recomendations. Offers 1000gp for actually solving problem
